Declaration on accessibility

The Central Institute of Mental Health endeavors to make its websites accessible in accordance with § 10 paragraph 1 of the State Disability Equality Act (L-BGG).

The following declaration on accessibility applies to the website:

1. Status of compatibility with the requirements

These websites are constantly being expanded and are partially compliant with Section 10 (1) L-BGG.

2 Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not yet or only partially accessible:

  • PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents that are offered for download are currently not all available in accessible format. We endeavor to offer newly uploaded files in an accessible version.
  • Some embedded videos do not contain subtitles. We endeavor to add subtitles to newly uploaded videos after publication.
  • There is no alternative in text form for audio files.
  • In some areas, including research, compatibility with assistive technologies is limited, for example due to missing link texts or a structure that differs from the content. Keyboard navigation is also not possible throughout. Alternatively, you can find a sitemap here [link to: www.zi-mannheim.de/service/sitemap.html ], which contains all pages of the main navigation.
  • There is no text in simple language on the site yet.
  • There are no videos in sign language yet.

The CIMH uses a tool to create accessibility, but this is limited in parts as follows:

  • It is possible that not all HTML structures are implemented semantically correctly, so that incorrect or incomplete heading hierarchies may exist.
  • Images can sometimes lack labelling, e.g. alternative texts, image descriptions or titles.
  • Interactive elements, such as buttons and links, are not automatically supplemented with meaningful ‘title’ attributes if these are missing.
  • ARIA attributes may be missing for dynamic elements.
  • The support of keyboard navigation is limited in parts, especially with existing errors in the ‘tabindex’ order or missing focus markers.
  • Complex interactive content, such as dynamic diagrams or customisable forms, may remain difficult to access.

We endeavour to further develop and continuously improve the websites in terms of improved accessibility.

3. Creation of this accessibility statement

The declaration was prepared on 18 March 2025 and last reviewed on 20 March 2025.
