PhD Candidate (m/f/x) - Public Mental Health

The Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) stands for cutting-edge international research and groundbreaking treatment concepts in psychiatry, psychotherapy, child and adolescent psychiatry, psychosomatic and addiction medicine. The CIMH supports Open-Science.The Department of Public Mental Health currently conducts a series of studies into the ecological translation of evidence-based innovations in public mental health provision. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training program to promote mental health literacy and is offered by ‘MHFA Ersthelfer’ at the Central Institute of Mental Health. A cluster-randomized controlled trial will be conducted to investigate the effectiveness of MHFA training in different educational settings. 

The Department of Public Mental Health is looking for a motivated PhD Candidate (m/f/x).

Job share: 65 %This position will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years.

What you will do

  • Contribute to a cluster-randomized controlled trial
  • Coordinate and carry out data collection at the study centers
  • Analyze qualitative as well as quantitative data
  • Present findings at scientific conferences
  • Publish papers in international peer-reviewed journals

Our requirements

  • Excellent Master’s degree in psychology, mental health services research, implementation science, public health or epidemiology or another related field of medicine, social or health/life sciences
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interested in Public Mental Health
  • Experience with the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Very good German and English language skills
